Entry Conditions
The band must
be available to play on the 7th of
November 2009, and at the allocated
heat and final in Oct.
The band must be able to travel to
the heats, final and Witchfest International,
Croydon at their own expense.
The band must have a Myspace page with sample music. Heat dates will be selected by a draw
Judging
The organisers will appoint three or more respected figures to act as judges.
There will be up to four heats with the winner of each going into the final, there will be one winner from the final.
The decision of the judges is final
Equipment and Onstage Rules
The organisers will provide a sound and lighting system, drums, bass and guitar amplifiers, microphones, monitors. All bands must use the same backline and drums provided by the organisers. Band members need to bring their instruments such as guitars and keyboards as well as any effects pedals. Drummers must bring their own pedal, snare, cymbals and drumsticks. The organisers will provide the sound and lighting engineer.
All bands must play live, backing tracks or drum machines are permitted.
Bands will play three songs each, either originals, covers, or a mixture of each. The total playing time for each band must not exceed 20 minutes.
Any band overrunning their allotted playing time may be turned off and/or deducted points.
The playing order of the bands will be determined by a draw.
All band members must be over 18
years of age and bring ID to the heat
if they look under 21.
The Prize
The prize is chance to play Witchfest
International on the 7th Nov 2009
at Fairfield Halls, Croydon. The £250
prize cheque will be presented to
you after your performance at Witchfest.
You will also be offered the opportuntity to sell merchandise after your performance at Witchfest, if you wish, you must provide staff to sell your goods and contact the organisers at least two weeks before the event to arrange your sales point.
Please note that your right to the £250 prize is forfeit if you fail to appear/perform at Witchfest for whatever reason.
